Roger Chapman:
After leaving in turn Family and Streetwalkers,
their vocalist Roger Chapman began a long and impressive series
of solo albums in 1979 (1st album: "Chappo"), accompanied by a killer outfit:
The Shortlist featured a pool of first class British musicians
like Geoff Whitehorn on guitar, Steve Simpson (from '81) on slide guitar, mandolin, violin, Tim Hinkley
on keyboards and Nick Pentelow on saxes. (More spotlight on Nick, please! Also
provider of great sounds on Steve Gibbons' "Down In The Bunker"
in 1978.)
These albums reveal a more bluesy side of Roger Chapman - more than
Family ever did. So he would finally deserve a chapter in
a blues list, after all!
