Steve 'Wes' Weston has a past in the two bands Rent Party and Jumping Catfish, both also featuring drummer Alan Savage.

Sept. 16 1998: Big Joe Louis writes that
Richard Studholme is now the guitarist with Wes (Steve). He used to lead a band called The Richard Studholme Blues Connection which backed several JSP artists on record in the 1980s/1990s like Carey Bell, Louisiana Red, Bill Dicey, Mojo Buford, Nappy Brown and Rockin' Sidney. The bass player with Wes is Geoff Shaw (who was an early roadie for Dr. Feelgood and was in a band (The Screamin' Abdabs) with pop singer Alison Moyet before she joined Yazoo).

April 2000 (Bluprint Magazine): "Richard Studholme has left West Weston's Bluesonics. Chris Corcoran has taken over guitar duties."
May 29 2000: Debut performance of new lineup of the Big Town Playboys, featuring Steve Weston on piano and harmonica.
July 2001: Steve Weston featured on harp when Big Joe Louis & His Blues Kings play two amazing gigs at Åmåls Blues Fest, Sweden: a two man acoustic gig (Joe and Steve) and an electric one with the full band. Check our photographs on our Åmåls Blues Fest pages!
Recordings:
A cassette with the Mike Halls lineup from 1996 was reviewed favourably in "Blueprint" magazine, Sept. '96. That very band also gigged at the "Station Tavern" in Sept. '96.

The (1st) Richard Studholme lineup is featured on a solid (and previously unreleased) "Please Please Please" (no! a Studholme original!) on a great compilation "Blueprint 98 CD: The Best of British Blues."

And the (2nd) Richard Studholme lineup appears on the "Blues In Britain 2001" compilation CD with a likewise impressive Weston original: the instrumental "Hard Drive". Oozing with hot harp!

In 2003 West Weston is leading West Weston's Big Rhythm: West Weston - Vocals, Piano & Harmonica, Graeme Turner - Tenor Sax, Lee Badau - Baritone Sax, Chris Corcoran - Guitar, Matt Radford - Double Bass, Jonathan Lee - Drums
