This is simply a very subjective selection of U.S. blues musicians in my taste. I must admit being very partial to the musician who, wearing a Fedora hat and carrying a battered Stratocaster case, seems to have stepped out of a slightly dented and dusty fishtail Cadillac, ready to purvey a brand of electric blues steeped in tradition but with a crisp modern sound. A journalist once wrote of what he called "The Austin, Texas/New England Axis" (meaning Robillard, Earl, Roomful et al).You could easily incorporate a large number of S.F. and L.A. musicians. Etcetera etcetera. All ladies and gentlemen below do not fill these criterias by all means. However, the Fedora folks will keep on raising their spaghetti-logo Fender heads all over this page.
